Today, the PFL playoff’s continue with a chase for the Million Dollar purse and the mantle of Champion. At the top of the Rankings is a dreamer with two fists and a skillset that makes him one of the most dangerous men in existence, Brendan Loughnane. With a dream, a warrior’s heart, and a work ethic that is unparalleled in Mixed Martial Arts he is the underdog from Manchester, the man counted out, but has a statement to be made and a legacy to build.
The fighter’s fighter is a hero of the people of Manchester, where there is a long line of English combat athletes who have taken the world by storm. After the pandemic started to rear it’s ugly head, Brendan spent his time away from the Octagon on mission, sharpening his tools in Thailand with some of the grittiest martial artists on the planet. Like a man possessed his goal is singular, be a champion. His mantra is that of a champion “I am the best and I will out wrestle the wrestler, I will out box the boxer, and will out fight the fighter,” which has been evident in his 7-fight win streak. He went on to say in an interview recently that he trains with lions, those lions include Former 2x UFC Champion Dominic Cruz and NCAA Wrestling Champion Roman Bravo-Young.
The full list of lions he trains with to hone his weapons would be limited to a small pack, but a pack as dangerous and credentialed as anyone can be in combat sports and at life. With longtime coaches in his corner Brendan steps in the Octagon against Movlid Khaybulaev who has a formidable record and fight camp. However, this is event should be his most formidable and skilled athlete that he has ever faced in the octagon. Both fighters respect each other, but all pleasantries are out of the way and now, on August 27th it will be settled under the lights.
