The Morning Routine
To stay in good shape while taking on the challenges of work and life can be difficult, but if you can set your watch to something and build habits and discipline then you can always come to depend on the ritual to keep you centered in the chaos. For me that is hearing my alarm exactly at 5 AM, then crawl out of bed and slip on the pre-staged work out fit.
Make my way to the kitchen and make myself a pot of coffee, a nice dark roast from Dos Bros Coffee. No cream or sugar needed to fuel the fire that starts in your heart and reverberates through the extremities. Suddenly the focus and the dialed in feeling sweep across your mind and you are on go mode: workout until 6:45AM, shower and dressed by 7:10AM, and at work starting at 8AM.
After work, the next workout steps into existence when a night out turns into breakdance battles with your bestie and the desire to down a bottle of forget this section of memory. Coffee, getting home the familiar roast and the bringing awareness comes with the acknowledgement that you are only human and not a machine results in a hot and cold shower, then the warmth of blankets follow and the splendor of the dreamscapes.
