Memorial Day
"Duty, Honor, Country. Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be." — Douglas MacArthur
Memorial Day is often considered the kick-off to summer fun — a day of family barbecues and first trips to the beach. But it’s important that we all take a moment to reflect and remember that the freedom and fun we daily enjoy is something hard-won, and comes to us courtesy of our brave service members, both past and present.
For many of us, it can feel hard to find adequate words to pay tribute to the brave men and women who serve our country. We honor our Fallen.
It’s hard to fathom the sacrifice those who have died in battle have made. Because of their gift, we get to enjoy freedoms few in other parts of the world have ever known. For that, we are eternally grateful and hold dear to our hearts, the freedoms and liberties we arise to daily. We count our blessing because of the Brave.
"Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy forget in time that men have died to win them." — FDR
