Looking to make his return to the Bellator cage on March 10th, 2023 in San Jose, is Mexican star Erik Goyito Perez (20-8)
Goyito will face Peru’s Enrique Barzola (18-7-2) at Bellator 292 and it won’t be a light task. Both fighters are looking to bring forth an entertaining and exciting match up as Mexico’s Goyito Perez looks to continue to climb the Bellator Bantamweight rankings with a victory over Barzola.
Eric has been a Fight Rope Athlete and a team captain at Alliance MMA since our inception in 2020 - as Goyito was a main training partner for Dominick Cruz during his title contention bout with Henry Cejudo on May 9, 2021.
Erik Perez has all the making of a World Class Champion and stands to achieve this goal by the end of 2023 as he continues to remove pieces off the board on his way. The dynamic fighter has shifted his training to include Deep End Fitness and a full program built by Coach Eric Del Fierro.
The shift in training and encompassing more cross training and strength training comes as a result of fighter evolution and adapting to the versatility of the new era athletes. The days of putting in more sparring rounds only is offically over, instead Goyito is working wrestling with Division I wrestlers, jujitsu with current and former ADCC champions, and incorporating a string of training partners with different disciplines for the stand-up including professional boxers, Muay Tai fighters, and Karate black belts.
As the sun sets on the old guard Goyito Perez finds himself moving forward with gold on his mind and fury in his fists. Mexico has champion blood coursing through the veins of its progeny including Erik who has trained alongside Brendan Moreno UFC champion and others from the Tijuana hunting grounds who have brought pride to the country who famously continues to produce warriors willing to put it on the line each and every day.
