Growth Through Adversity
It isn’t a surprise that most people quit when the going gets tough, it’s easy to say they tried and just couldn’t make it. However, they never changed what they were doing to be successful, because in the past they have triumphed with their effort. The real wins come in battle though, when your face is pushed against the cage and you know that you closing in on some final actions before it’s lights out. That opening you noticed and drilled one thousand times with your jujitsu instructor just occurred, do you take it? Risk it? What more do you have to lose by trying and being successful? The best contests and most revered come from those who put everything on the line to win.
The Fight Rope is the competitor you want on your side, the ones that you have to kill to get them to quit. The ones that put their lives on the line for combat sports. The animal you feed in the gym is the animal you expect in life to come to your aid when all the chips are in. No one will rescue you, no one is coming to bail you out, and no one cares about how bad things get if you don’t let anyone know or make a change. You have to aggressively make changes to win at life and get what you want. If that means taking an extra shift to buy that new sound mixer, then you do it.
No more of, damn he has cool stuff, I want that. How about, damn that person has the lifestyle I want what can I do to get there. The answer is always the same, hard work, smart work, and taking risks. If you are unsuccessful so what, the world we know has been built by people who only needed to win one time. The astronomical event that put you here, the chance meetings of our ancestors, the survival of the hardest landscapes, the battles with every beast from nightmares, and the relentless ability for one of the weakest creatures in the animal kingdom to prevail and rule the planet.
Each year will never be the same as the previous unless it’s in the area of growth. If that growth to your character means you lose everything, then you lose everything. If that growth means, that despite setbacks you will get your hand raised in the game of life, then that I what it means. One million years of human achievement and you want to squander those gains by being safe? Be glad your great grandparents were hard and resilient. Be grateful that somewhere in your gene pool is an insanely risky individual who threw caution to the wind and started to win at life.
Join the Fight Rope community of champions and risk takers. Earn the stripes on your belt and the ones in life that matter to you. We were built to be relentless, our ancestor’s were nightmare fuel to other creatures!
